Nurturing young minds, instilling hope
Hope is where the heart is
Since 2015, iThemba Trust has been creating lasting change in South Africa through education. iThemba means hope in Zulu, and that’s exactly what we stand for – putting hope into action where it’s needed most.
Founded by Nutun and proudly B-BBEE-compliant, we empower historically disadvantaged Black South Africans by focusing on early childhood development and literacy, helping young minds grow, dream and thrive.
With dedicated partners and sustainable funding, we provide essential resources to educational programmes that spark curiosity, build confidence and set future leaders up for success.
Changing lives, one lesson at a time
At The iThemba Trust, we believe education changes lives, breaks barriers and opens doors. Our current initiatives include:
HeadStart Kids
Providing vital early childhood development programmes, reaching over 1 400 children.
Project Literacy’s Run Home to Read Programme
Empowering children and adults with literacy skills, fostering a lifelong love of learning in underserved communities.
We are fully committed to providing underprivileged children with the tools they need to succeed.
