The people we support
HeadStart Kids is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting early childhood development and wellness.
Since its inception in 2017, this initiative has positively influenced the lives of over 150,000 children each day, providing them with essential nutrition and support for optimal growth and learning.
HeadStart Kids has been active in South Africa since 2016 and currently supplies micronutrients to more than 40,000 children daily.
Malnutrition is the silent crisis behind more than half of childhood deaths in South Africa. It severely impacts a child’s cognitive development, weakens their immune system, stunts their growth, and leaves them more vulnerable to disease and fatal outcomes. Without proper nutrition, a child’s future is compromised before it even begins.
Founded in 1973, Project Literacy set out to teach basic literacy and sewing skills to domestic workers and gardeners in urban areas.
Since then, their mission has expanded to provide a wide range of education and training programs for disadvantaged adults, youth, and children. Through adult education centres, teacher training, curriculum development, and community outreach, they continue to create meaningful opportunities for learning and personal growth.
